Fallen off, getting back on again

Yoga, horse riding, and intensive yard work... all within 15 hours! Ugh... I've been good about going to yoga three times a week, but I've fallen off the wagon with the YMCA workout regimen. I need to get back on board starting Monday morning. Ugh. Time to put in the real hours. An hour in the morning and an ninety minutes of steamy Bikram yoga in the evening... that ought to combat my crappy eating habits. I need to get back to breakfast and dinners at home, too. It's less expensive and usually healthier. But anyway, I'm back, and I'm trying.

bad day

got back to my weekly routine yesterday...but it did not go so well. Because I was out of town for 4 days my training suffered. I was only able to workout once (ran 35 minutes) in the 4 days and I could really tell yesterday. MY bike and swim were supposed to be 70m/35m but I olny made it through 45/20. My lungs felt tight, legs and arms were really tired....I guess this is why you train even right up until the race itself. Oh well...today is a new day and I hit the track and the pool again today.

Creatine, Protein and heavy lifting

I had a heavy lift yesterday and am very sore today. I switched my rep range down to sets of 8-10 and increased the weight. For me that is more effective than the high rep stuff...i just didnt feel like i was getting the burn. Anyways, i have inserted creatine into my training regimen and hope to see more recovery and explosive strength as a result.
